Environment - Renewables
Dependent upon location and orientation, any of the following could be feasible and will need detailed evaluation with our specialist team:
Solar thermal panels: Providing all hot water and possible link to under-floor heating system. This has a short payback and is a must for many installations, working really well with our super insulated shell construction.
PV (photovoltaics): Still quite costly but proven energy provider with little or no maintenance, providing a proven renewable electricity source.
PVT: Combines both of the above and is more efficient as a result. Works best when applied with an underground heat store, this can provide all of your home's energy needs.
GSHP (ground source heat pump): Low heat system that works well with under-floor system but not radiators. Air source systems are also available. The electrical needs of the pump system also need to be considered if this approach is to be adopted. Can work well in tandem with solar and/or PV systems.
Wind Turbines and Hydro: Very site specific, subject to planning constraints but can provide a more site and location driven option if you are lucky to have the space and planning potential.
